Marc Lebreux LH: Pull side hitter who hunts fastballs, he is also a very patient hitter (swing% raises as he falls behind in count), it seems as though he isn’t great at adjusting to the offspeed either so if we can get ahead early and have him chase a breaking ball that’d be ideal, hits the ball hard for the most part so its best to attack him high and inside. Against RHP he rakes however, against LHP his numbers take a decent dip. (.210 difference in OPS)
Emiles Boies LH: In a limited number of abs (120) he seems to be a push hitter, according to his hot zones he can hit inside pitches hard but that number significantly drops on the outside half of the plate, Boies is more of a free swinger compared to his teammates so if he gets into a hitters count or falls behind we can use that against him. Struggles big time against RHP however, becomes an average hitter against LHP.
Jesmuel Valentin S: Majority pullside hitter but shows a willingness to go oppo, seems to love the low and in pitch so there's opportunities to attack him high and in and low and away, very high whiff % when ahead in the count, in any 2 strike count his swing % skyrockets so we may be able to extend the zone against him. Against LHP he is a better overall hitter but he struggles getting good wood on inside pitches, and against RHP he struggles up and in.
Anthony Quirion RH: Pull side hitter, loves the low pitches so we can attack him up in the
zone as his BA significantly drops, doesn’t chase much and will mostly take until he gets 2
strikes on him and that is when we expand the zone, high whiff rate early on in the count could be susceptible if we go after him early. Average hitter against LHP and RHP however, his numbers slightly rise against righties.
David Mendham LH: Limited number of abs (72), spreads the ball to all areas of the field,
looks like he can’t hit the low and away pitch as well as other areas, seems to work counts really well so it's important to stay ahead of this guy. Against LHP he is hitting .500 in 20 abs and against RHP he is hitting .325 in 43 abs.
Arturo De Freitas RH: Major pull side hitter, loves the inside pitch especially high, but really
struggles on away pitches, can get blown away by a good fastball relatively easy, in the same breath he can't adjust to curves or other breaking pitches, when behind in the count he swings a lot but when ahead he can be patient. Really struggles with LHP and his stats against RHP are below average as well.
